Singing Simplistically!

Tonight I took my boots off and walked in my farmland, barefoot. The dew was setting in and the night symphony began to play for their creator. The sunset had been simply wonderful, an array of oranges, pinks, and light blues. I wandered among the pretty weeds that grow wild in the spring, I gathered my thoughts and began to articulate them to the One who knew them, even before I did :) My heart was full and my head fuller. It had been a very busy last few days, and there was more chaos inside my skin than outside at times.

Memories came from my childhood, playing and dancing, singing and laughing, dreaming and making fun games out of hay bales and the imagination! Songs that I used to sing to Jesus, came flooding into melodies from my lips and before I knew it I was worshiping the creator too! "Lord I lift your Name on high, I LOVE to sing your praises...I am SO glad that you are IN my life." Wow. "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, there's just something about that name!" My heart swelled, "I love you Lord, and I lift my voice to worship YOU!"
He humbled my anxious being and reminded me that He is and that is enough!

time

Swinging aimlessly on the back porch, watching raindrops dance on the patio, yet really not seeing them as much as hearing them. My mind was displaying memories from the past week, it had gone by so quickly, even so, the emotions lingered. It is a funny thing, emotion, how is a woman to bridle it against the reality of it's feelings? Large hands tenderly touching skin, warm, kind, not invading, yet pursuing. Deep eyes, longing. Soft voice breathing of a hope and future, yet slowly closing in was the recognition of...time. Would it fan the flame or blow it out? Two young dreamers saying goodbye, desperate for one simple word...time, yet not apart, but rather together, time, just to be and know, to learn and grow...time....

Frail, yet in steady arms

Weakness can be frustrating. I like to be strong, both in emotion and will. When I feel weak there rises in me a strong desire for control. Last night I was overcome by emotion by how lacking my strength seemed to be, I was vulnerable and upset. I have always been told that, "When we are weak, He is strong." This makes me upset sometimes because I would rather just be strong than rely on someone else's strength. I am coming to realize that even in my "own" strength I am so frail. The Gospel is all about my weakness, my being unable to do anything at all about my salvation, I am dead. Christ is IT, He alone is my salvation, it is His grace! It is humbling to recognize this, over again :)

Today, I choose to be weak-though uncomfortable at times, it is my state. I am trusting that when He sees fit, His strength will be felt in me, not just around me. It is in this state that I share myself and hope to see in the future the purposes by which sight seems to be lacking and faith yearns to be present.

There is a yielding which must be done in my heart. Oh, how the flesh, even now, longs for "delayed" obedience. I desire life, however, more than death-though it truly is in the dying that life can be breathed. Thank you, Jesus!
